they both got too cold during shipping. they were toast by the time I opened the package but I was hoping for miracles.

Glad to hear he will replace them. I had several Catts that were shipped and held up in the postal system over Thanksgiving a few years back. They had signs of cold damage but didn't die and it took a long time for them to really get going again. So just as well to start over with new ones.

I made the mistake about a month ago of ordering 3 paphs. Their roots were frozen solid. They are all still barely alive...

one leaf fell off they all went a dark olive color and the flesh of the leaves and bulbs on the cat went soft. as well as the roots. when you pinch the root mass you can feel its done. I am not sure exactly what you mean by "pit" but you can see texture in them healthy leaves do not have. The masd. leaves look almost as if they were freeze dried.
