I have the 'Maui Sunset' cultivar of this and it's my probably most vigorous phal. It's in (branching) spike right now, probably to start blooming in a few weeks. The amazing thing about this plant for me is how long it holds its old leaves. I've had it for over 3 years and only in the past month or so has it finally lost one or two bottom leaves (and grows new ones at a pretty fast clip). This one also likes to put out a second blooming on old spikes.

I have one I like that is a very deep pink, almost a red. It's a noid hybrid, but here it is. Found it at Trader Joe's this summer for 8$. It's a sequential bloomer. Flowers are really long lasting. It's not a true red though and has a yellowish green background. The spike is still throwing out buds for me. It's a very happy plant.

I believe that is Taida Salu.
I have bought Taida Salu a few times, but it seems to be a diva for me.
Each time I buy, ALL the flowers drop like crazy within one week or so.
Then, the tips of the spike will continue to add some more buds, nothing like when first bought.
now I'm scared to buy it, but just enjoy the pictures.

I would say that flower is deep maroon rather than "true red".

It could be my eyes, but Phal. cornu-cervi forma Chattaladae looks very much red to me. Big Leaf currently has a few mature size ones in their store, BTW.

I have a hybrid, cats paw, that is round and thick in substance, smells like candy and is about as red as I've ever seen in person.
