For a phrag, yes. It's one of the smallest of the phrags. Others have a span of several feet.

I have (or have had) all of these and they're all great choices. Schlimii can be a little finicky for some people to grow, but I wouldn't call it difficult. The Carol Kanzer has an excellent quality flower. Much darker petals than most and a lovely inflated pouch.

Interestingly enough, all of these have potential for fragrance (albeit lightly so). Schlimii should be fairly fragrant, a trait which it imparts into some of its hybrids. My Carol Kanzer wasn't fragrant, but some of them are. One of the parents of Druid Spring is primulinum, which is a fragrant species. It's also hit or miss as to whether that fragrance carries over to its hybrids. My DS is very slightly fragrant, but many are not.

The Carol does smell!!!! Thanks for pointing it out! I actually don't think to smell slippers, in general. My Zygo and Max. tenuifolia are the only thing I expect anything out of! Anyway, yes, it's noticable when I get up close to it. My nose is a bit stuffy so I didn't get as strong of a smell from the schlimii.

I got the Carol because of the really wide pouch. When I saw other plants like this on the Internet (searching for examples) I didn't see any others that were this much. When I went to smell I just discovered a 3rd spike too!

Stay tuned on the Druid. Looks like two spikes this year and perhaps three next year.
