I don't think there are any true red paphs, although I have seen some vini with wine tone that is very close to actual blood red. I would love to have one of those! sigh again. lol

Paph Keyshill or another similar complex will have a lot of red. But no species is truly red in of itself.

Purple comes in different shades and common.
The thing is, as always, to find good ones, I mean ones you find attractive.
I don't have straight species fairy, but I do have a few hybrids involving fairy which always show its influence in flower shape and color pattern.
Many look like species fairy on steroid and I like big flowers. lol

Here is one of my species - I got this as a seedling and this is the first bloom.
Anyway I was told it would be mostly green with just a few hints of red. This is what I got.
I'm in love with it, but it wasn't what I expected. I have a sibling that is just getting ready to spike now - it will be interesting to see how different they are.

And mine from Orchid Zone. I picked it out in bloom and was mostly looking for shape followed by color. It's a crappy picture of it. Way overexposed.

Good example of how useless the descriptions can be like those photos. lol
I mean they mix two plants with certain goal they want to achieve in the progeny, which is usually the description of the seedlings, but not always the case.
