Seattle orchids pack the orchids well that it will be enveloped with newspaper strips that will serve like a parka jacket. Plus the heatpack....it will not be frozen even left at your porch half a day. The airplane travel, the truck travel plus the postal building is heated....I don't think they will leave packages in a bodega that is freezing. Yet the newspaper inside the box will retain heat from the heatpack.

Seems going to be later today as well. Because we went out today just for a few minutes. And the roads are still bad.

Mail came in 5 hours late; we are actually not going to get mail today.

I called the rural route carriers and they had just now gotten through them about an hour ago.

Thank you, @Everyone, if anything it will going into winter rest soon .

I have one stuck in the mail. I am angry. It should have been here 3 days ago before the weather got ugly. I am not hopeful.

OOOOOhhhh I would be saying so many not nice things right now. That is an exspensive purchase. I will tell you the best way to get a reaction is to start a case on it. Trust me my Bulbo, got to me in 2 days after being lost for a week.

Call and file a complaint.

We still cant even get out of our driveway. The roads are pure ice. A guy in a duelly came through and got half way up the hill by our house you could here him shifting gears, it took a good...8 minutes to get up then he just slid right over.... scary. scary. scary. scary.

Up here that is often a winter "high" in many areas.

As long as you PO delivery person isnt' the mental moron that mine is, your plants should be fine. Had a couple boxes (plants in trade) delivered last month. Good thing I was home. One box was left on my doorstep with temps in the low 30s despite "Live Plants Keep from Heat or Cold" being written on all sides of the box in large letters. No knock on the door or anything. 2nd pkg was left in my mailbox a couple weeks later with temps in the 20's (despite the same message written again on all box sides). The plants in both cases were tropicals. If I had not been home and just happened to check (paranoid soul that I can be) after I noticed the mailtruck leaving, I have no doubt I would have had very dead plants.

Technically one delivery guy is a wimp because of my dog he wont get out.

The fedex/UPS/USPS guys ALL drop stuff off and leave them at my door.
One UPS guy is his (my dogs) favorite because he feeds him treats lol.

I mean technically he is a bigger dog husky/ german shepherd cross. but he is all legs still and really does not bark he is more concerned with what their trucks smell like.

USPS policy is to shoot dogs in the face with pepper spray first, ask questions later. I was relieved when I moved into a neighborhood with community mail boxes. I filed so many complaints against our mail carrier at our previous house after watching him send my neighbor's dog to the vet TWICE for wanting to sniff his pant leg. The guy had an actual phobia of dogs and should not have been a mail carrier.

Incidentally, 19 is four degrees warmer than our expected high temperature here today. Last night, it was exactly 3 degrees.
