Wow! Just had to post this amazing root growth that happened between watering's. I was worried about lack of new root on my Encyclia's new growths and then this happened in aprox 4 days!! Gotta love the seaweed!
Do you know if it is indeed the influence of the seaweed stuff or is this how the plant normally grows?
That reminds me of my dendrobiums, which are the only orchids I have that sprout tons of roots at the beginning of the growth cycles. That is just what they do.

Well I guess I don't really know if it is the seaweed. I have only had the plant for 6 months. But I am experiencing lots of root growth on many of my orchids since I started using seaweed emulsion. Time will have to tell if this is just how this plant grows, unless someone else with an Encyclia Cochleata can chime in on this.
Kelp or sea weed? I am kind of wondering if it is a regular growth pattren time or if it is a nutrient. My cats have been having amazing root growth. I think it is the time of year.
I am using Hydrolysed Canadian seaweed, N ....0.6% , P2o5....0.2%, K20....0.6% and Dyna grow weakly weekly. Does this sound o.k.? My orchids seem happy

I was advised to used Dyna grow "bloom" now and Dyna grow "grow" in the summer at my local orchid greenhouse, so that's what I am doing. I welcome feed back and advice.
