SOS, broke a phal into 2 pieces Male
Default SOS, broke a phal into 2 pieces

Help, i accidentally broke a phal into 2 pieces at it's stem.
The leaves and stem are in 1 part, the roots in the 2nd part.
Will the phal have a chance of surviving?
I dip the stem into some root powder, and apply some anti-fungi powder on the stub of the roots.
Will the stem with leaves grow new roots? Or will the stub with roots grow new leaves?

More likely that the roots will eventually put out new leaves in my experience.

I think it's the other way around, but maybe a picture would help us help you?

I did this recently with a phal.
It's got a fair bit of bellina in it which I think helped.
It grew a new crown from the roots. The leaves have just started root nubbins.

Glad to hear that. It really gives me some hope. Did you do anything with the plant, or did you just leave it alone?

I put it in a terrarium lol.
I said.. oops! Stuck the top back into the potting mix and put it in this tiny desktop terrarium I use for random purposes. After that I kept the media moist and tried to pretend I didn't break it.

If you use some rooting hormones or seaweed extract on the leaves, it might help getting new roots (I have been successful with this).

if you take care of the plant really well....you might have two plants out of this accident.

seaweed extract! I forgot about that. I have everything a good soaking in a seaweed solution first.
