Default Give me some hope :(

I am very sad and worried today Few days ago I noticed that my Phal is growing a new leaf, and I was very happy. This morning I took it to see its progress and I was shocked with what I saw It looks like terminal spike but with leaf on it This orchid had most amazing bloom ever, it lasted about 6 months, maybe even longer, and it had so many flowers... I am desperate since I am very emotionally attached to this plant Please give me some hope, can I save my Phal? Here are pictures to help you understand...

What do the roots look like? any rot down there. I would not think a terminal spike. But then at the same time I have never seen one. Is this a NOID? or does it have a name.

Terminal spike doesn't mean that the plant is going to die soon (eventually it will if there is no keikis). Normal aging and leaf drop will continue, there just won't be new leaves to replace them.
Either you can hope for a basal keiki, or you can coax things along by using keiki paste once that spike is developped enough.

That's a terminal spike for sure, they come out of the center of the crown.

No worries....Camille is right, it will not die on you that soon. It might give you bloom spikes and basal keikis....the self preservation of these kind of plants is very strong....it will leave you a baby that will bloom well and healthy ....

Thank you all for kind and fast answers. Roots look nice and healthy, even more roots are growing. It is NOID, on tag it only says "Phalaenopsis". I will hope for keiki, although I am very sad because this happened. Did I do something wrong? Why terminal spikes happen?

some hybrids have mutated DNA that tend to form central keikis or terminal spikes. Wait for the terminal keiki to form at least three inches roots and you can just twist it and pull then pot it separately.
the term 'terminal' here is meant growing at the center not like terminal cancer and death....it is not your fault at all....you did nothing wrong. Its the way it inherited traits from the parents.

Thank you Bud. What do you guys think about that leaf? Could it be a beginning of a keiki or just some malformation?
