looking for Catasetum

My family asks what I want for Christmas and I say catasetum/bulbos. Yes I get an eye roll from them.. I know SVO has them and pretty ones...but the 20 dollar shipping is a little bit much. Ebay has some but none I dont already have/want/PRICE RANGE WAY TO STINKING HIGH!

Seattle is out of them so is ecugenera(sp).

Any other suggestions?

SVO stands for sunset valley my sister looked at me and said I refuse to pay 20.00 in shipping thats ridiculous.

Well 'duh' to me, I didn't even think that they were the same grower!
Though to me the shipping still sounds decent. Then again I'm used to paying more in shipping when ordering from a different country in Europe (which is most of my orders), so cheap shipping is something I'm not used to!

Lol. Well we set limits on gifts amongst us siblings. Since I am a college student. So the 45 ish payment for one plant seriously irked my sister. Of course she is a black thumb of death.

Plus for that reason I order state side or ecugenera since they pay for all the paperwork.

I can see why your sister would be a bit unhappy... Ordering for yourself is one thing, giving it as a gift request is quite another.

Yeah I know we usually set 45-50 and she shops at the loft so I really dont see how they dont even out. But if I could get 2 plants for cheaper shipping I would be happy. Even I have a hard time swallowing 20 dollar shipping.

Even kawamoto who ships fedex is only 12 dollars. And 7.00 for each plant after I think. If I were to order 2-3 plants from SVO I would be more okay w the 20 dollar shipping fee. With just one plant possibly thats kinda bad.

20 bucks may seem like a lot but sometimes you have to pay to play.
I have ordered from svo and was very pleased. SVO shipsnext day and plants are expertly packed. They are a great us source for austrailian dends and are producing their own hybrids. I ordered 3 plants and they gave me one extra as a bonus. I am happy to pay a little more shipping to keep a good grower in business

Which there are times I really think I may be but that is neither here nor there. Especially since a lot of my non "catasetum/bulbo/flask babies shall be most likely going bye bye other than my brassovalia of course.
