Was there an old pbulb in that location? Looks like some sort of old stump in the first pic of the roots. If I had the pbulbs I would plant them in a coarse sand. Very coarse. Place the sand in a pot that has some good drainage. Just like cym bulbs they do not like to bed wet. But the micro climate can be kept humid by every so oftem watering the sand around the edge of the pot. The old pbulbs usually send out roots but often send out new pbulbs which is what you want. The reason for the sand is that bark can be a media for fungi, molds, and bacterial colonization. Sand is pretty inert. Or you can wrap the bunch of pbulbs very loosely in good clean NZ sphagnum moss and very lightly water them.
