Get some slipper orchids! I love them and over half of my collection consists of slippers. Super easy to grow (at least for me), the blooms last a long time, and they're unique. You're getting ready for your 4th I'm almost to my 100th after almost 3 years. And all of them fit in 9 square feet of growing space!

Oooo, buy one!
You're so lucky to have a store that offers so many beautiful orchids, just to stop in and look.

I don't think I could resit. €21 is about £18 at the moment. That seams reasonable for something like this. If you were going ordering online from a specialist you might get a named plant for that, but then you have to pay postage and some are really expensive on that (€9 from Germany is the cheapest I found, most could be more like €15 - €20 just for postage).
So while your local shop has such beauties I would get one

I got one
He's an unidentified Paph hybrid grown at P.P.Orchideeën in the Netherlands. Bought at my local garden center Truffaut. Cost 19.50 €. This shipment just arrived today, and I picked him out of the box
I got this guy because he was the tallest and skinniest of the 20 or so Paphs they had. Some had more perfect blossoms, some were more colorful, some even had another bud showing...but I chose this one
So that's it...onward and upward from here
Pics:
Oooh! Ahh!
With a postcard to give an idea of size.
Potting media - look ok?

Looks like it's got a new growth too! Excellent call!
I would go ahead and replace the potting media with a similar media after it drops its bloom. Paphs LIKE to be repotted frequently. Someone, I think SlipperGirl, mentioned to me that they repot some of their paphs every six months.
I also do this with all of my purchases that do not come directly from an orchid grower, mostly because you never know what's in there until you get in there and find out and I like to ditch the old media and start with a fresh media of my choice, that I know the ingredients of, so if something's not working, I have a chance to tweak it. So far, the pre-mixed orchid barks from better gro have been working for me, but I'm considering adding a little chopped spaghnum moss to the mix when I repot my paph. Paphs like to be a bit more damp than Phals, and I think the addition of the moss will help me keep things a bit more moist between waterings.

$30 USD is not bad! Our local nursery charges $40 for anything in or near bloom.
