Default Taida King's Caroline help needed.

My first orchid I bought was a Taida that I got at Lowes. Well I didn't report it like I should have and it got root rot. It did grow 2 keikis from the flow stem but I lost the main plant.

Both keikis are under sized but I have them in repotme phal dark orchid mix in air cone pots. I also have the disinfectant, NPK rooting hormone, and MSU fert that are being used on them. I checked them this evening and saw that they were getting worst. So I pulled them away from the window and have them under a light on my kitchen counter. The light is a fluorescent bulb in the daylight range of 6500 k.

I will post pics ASAP when I'm allowed to but does anyone else have any other suggestions to get these guys healthy?

In what way are they worse? Bad roots?

I would keep them warm, not too bright light, let media become nearly dry before watering. Using a skewer in the media is very helpful for determining when to water.

The smaller of the 2 has only one root about 1/2 inch long. When I checked on it the root looks like it deflated. It was a nice thick root that looked solid but now it looks like it thinned out and is all wrinkled.

The larger one has 3 roost that are at most 3/4 of an inch. I've noticed in the location where the roots meet the plant is turning to a dark color. Also one of the tips on the root is doing the same deflation as the first one.

Let me see if I can post some pics of what's going on.

This is the larger of the 2 keiki.

Sorry to say but looking at your pictures; the keikis are both dead. Usually keikis have to grow two inches roots before you twist it from the spike and repot it. But in your case the mother plant died of root rot and chances are the spike also got the rot killing the keikis. The base of the keikis have yellow rings meaning it was trying to fight infection.

That's what I feared. The shame is that it has a beautiful flower and my first orchid. All of my other orchids seem to be doing well tho.

I'll keep them going as long as possible to see if I can get them health. I always have to give an underdog a change.
