I agree. The pictures of the never-ending warmth (the fact I had tomatoes in the ground in April) are overshadowed by the ice/sleet/constant gray of wet season. Still, if you wanted to grow Cymbidiums, I can't think of a better place than southern Origon coast (sp intended!) Those things grew like dandelions grow here!

I live in Melbourne Beach , Fl. south of the Cape, about 100 miles east of Orlando. We are just about at the freeze line..

So cool-growing orchids aren't out of the question?
|
Ross,
Naahhhhh, I don't think cool growing ones would do very well here. I'll leave them for you to grow. Besides there are so many warm growing ones to go through first.. I just bought my first warm tolerant Cymbidium Everglades Gold on Sunday and hope that will do well here in Florida Tony, I love rusting away here in Florida too. Speaking of RUSTING, I was told that Brevard County was the rust capital of the country.. meaning anything we put our orchids on outside has to be rustrproof.. It's still worth it, I feel like I am in paradise every day |
I live in The netherlands, Europe. The name of the village is Hoofddorp, and is situated between the runways of Schiphol-Amsterdam International Airport.
