Oh, wow! Growing wild and without fertilising and watering. Hawaii must have the perfect weather for the Vanda Miss Joaquim.
I made a mistake with the parentage. It is Vanda teres x vanda hookeriana. I mixed it up with arachnis flos-aeris, one of my favourite plants which is a chocolate-coloured spider orchid with the most heavenly scent! Nowadays nobody grows these anymore.
You know, slow-growing plants that bloom once in a while and hence cannot be used for the cut-flower trade are just neglected so that I'm sure many have gone extinct, and nobody cares. But I do, muchly.
Maybe we should bring these to Hawaii and let them grow wild !
