Interesting. I went to SU and will be in Syracuse for my MIL's funeral in June. The whole bunch of us plan on being at SU and Manny's and several other standby's. Glad you are are here! BTW, my wife and I will be at her cousin's place in western NY (Chautaqua) Memorial Day weekend. He owns a farm market/greenhouse place.

Kiki-do - I must admit I got the idea from your previous post! Those were brilliant! I've been stuck on a bus to Maine multiple times and I thought your directions were spot on. It had me laughing in my office this afternoon, I'm almost sure that my neighbor thought I was crazy since I'm in my office by myself.
Thanks for the welcome, I'm happy to be here!

I'm originally from VA, but I love it here.
I'm in east TX (Nacogdoches) about 90 miles from the LA border, due west of where the LA/TX border goes from a strait line to a squiggly one.

Royal - HAHA! I love it!
So is mine: Connecticut!! Woohoo! (moo...moooo...moooo) <----my neighbor's cows?

Gruetzi!
Don't you love it, though? I'll be driving through Basel in June, on my way to Freiburg (my home town). Have you been to the Black Forest? Talk about slow, talk about beautiful!!
There was a post yesterday from one of our friends in Birmingham, UK, I forget her name right now. She was telling us about Vandas and glass culture. Are you familiar with it? I just bought my first Vanda, now I can't decide whether to keep it outside or put it into a vase.
Tschuess!

Hello! My husband is from Heppenheim (we live in Florida). Last time we were in Germany, we drove down to the Black Forest and the Rhine Falls. We stayed at a good hotel in Frieburg (I forget the name) that was connected to the mineral baths (pools). I remember a nice church and town square where we had lunch. Very nice place!

Grüezi miteinand!!
of course I've been in the black forest and Freiburg (have very good friends in town) and Heppenheim (I've lived for 9 years in Mannheim, while doing my PhD in Heidelberg) Yes, I am one of the very few one who like Mannheim I love that city and don't like Heidelberg at all - believe it or not!
Now in basel since 2 years ago (after 2 years in Madrid) and i love this city too... could have a bit more "life", but for that we have Zürich, and Freiburg just at the corner, and by plane or train, every large city is just a "Katzensprung"
As per vandas in glass culture... I tried it with but neither my Vanda Blue Magic, nor my Rhynchostylis gigantea liked it... I could not cope with the watering - even daily watering seem to be not enough for them... Now I have my vand in a S/H pot, but witha mix of LECA and Epiweb (1:2) and the water in the reservoir is mainly for the evaporation... lots of roots and new leaves is the result of it
Rhynchostylis gigantea is in similar medium, but in a ceramic pot...

Hello all! I'm in central New Jersey in Somerset, about 2 miles south of New Brunswick, NJ. Planning on moving in the next few years, too expensive out here for me!

What a beautiful time of year to be in the area, but I'm sorry for the sad cause!! I love it here, never intended to stay long, but.. 7 years later, still here, and not planning on moving, ever, if I can avoid it.
