Hi Margit, welcome in OB

where exactly are you from in Germany? I lived for 9 years in Mannheim/Heidelberg

and BTW, I am growing in Basel, Switzerland. A small nice "multi-culti" town. Within walking distance you can enjoy Switzerland, Germany and France... and we also have a very nice weather here: not to hot in Summer, not too cold in winter

Welcome Margit

If we are any indication, you will get into plenty of trouble at the show!!
Be sure and post pictures of the show, and what followed you home.
We loooove pictures!

How many orchids do you have so far? What kind of growing conditions do you have? (lights, windows, greenhouse, etc.)

Have fun at the Northwest Orchid show.

I live in good ol Maine USA. Directions to my house are as follows: Take Route 2 toward Rumford Point, go 3 east miles past the bull moose hanging out by the ol farm house and turn left at the road where the rooster crows on the fence. Maneuver gently past the flock of wild turkeys (careful, they think they own the road). I'm the log home on the right, past the black angus cows on your left (not the place with the belted-galloways, mind you). Anyway....
Some say you can't get here from there, but that's just not true. And if you see rather large water-filled pot holes (aka mini-ponds) in the road, please be careful as some of our local ducks have taken up residency there.
Should you have a problem finding me, just stop at The Ye Ol General Store and ask for Kiki's place.

Kiki, It sounds nice!

(Getting to Detroit is similar, but it's "pass the dead guy on the left, make a right turn by the burned out building, and then turn left at the corner that the Mayor's girlfriend works at.")

New London, Ohio Far away from everything else! hmmm, directions: get off Ohio turnpike, take 250 south and then go straight, and then go...straight some more... turn left at the 14th cornfield, stop at the railroad tracks because there WILL be a train stopped or moveing slow enough so the conductor can jump out and get lunch from Mcdonalds and then your there

(Getting to Detroit is similar, but it's "pass the dead guy on the left, make a right turn by the burned out building, and then turn left at the corner that the Mayors girlfriend works at.")
LoL, That sound about right except there needs to be more perminent orange road cones and giant craters.

To get to Cadillac, just drive north in the parade of vehicles driving up from Detroit

To get to NYC, all you need to do is count the number of people wearing black and white, sunglasses and holding a cell phone. The more of those you see, the closer you are to NYC.

Ross, aint it the truth??!! "Up North" isn't a direction to Detroiters, it's a destination!

Cool site Ray.

Tim, I forgot about that! When they put in a new road here, they put up barrels & cones immediately knowing they will need them soon.
