Cattleyas and vandas sound perfect for this window, unfortunately I haven't found any locally yet!
So one drawback of the tint is when it's overcast, the light is very low, around 100 fc. This should be ok if it's only a few days at a time for phals, oncidium and dendrobiums right? Or should I reconsider their location?
I have a large south facing bay window in my apartment in Manhattan, NY.
It took me 2 years of collecting Vandacious and direct sun loving orchids to hang on that window to create a shade for my Phals and other low light orchids placed on tiers of metal racks.
Tinting your glass will not be efficient as to strategically placing direct sun loving plants.

I put hooks a foot away from the window up on the ceiling at 8 inches intervals from left end to the other end and hang one basket under the other until I fill the window. It looks like a lattice of leaves but still allowing light to come in my living room.
