I discovered a burned leaf- help?
Default I discovered a burned leaf- help?

On a nice sunny day- I had my Phals near a window with sunshine through the curtains. However as wind picked up, The curtains started shifting and sure enough, by the time I discover what happened, 2 had suffer sun burn. So I did nothing to the plant but today I saw that the burn is growing, so I decided to cut off the burned areas on the leaves and applied cinnamon to the cuts. PS- they are in bloom stage, buds opening left and right plus new spikes coming out of it. I hope I didn't hurt the plant Did I do right by cutting? Help?

I have let the same thing happen but I have just let them alone. I'm a bit pissed at myself.

Maybe you should also either move the plant a bit, or put something like some translucent paper on your window to tone down the sun rays a little. I have seen some people "whitewash" their windows. Not sure what that means, but I think you put a bit of removable paint on your window.

I have a similar situation with my Odontonia. Its leaves are very prone to sun burn yet it likes "strong" light. Finding the perfect place is a nightmare.
