I previously posted about this plant here

This plant is making a splendid recovery its growing a new leaf and has about six new roots. Its growing rapidly! I saw this new growth today and it looks a little different than the roots I've seen it grow. Could it be a spike? It seems odd to me that a plant that was so close to death would want to make a spike so soon? Anyone know if this is just another root or if it could be something else? Its above the obvious root and its growing from the stem. I guess it could be a weird looking root? Either way Im happy.

Nope, not a spike. It is a good sign tho! It's a ROOT!

New roots are beautiful things!

Oh wait! You mean in the shadow above the root!

That does look like a spike actually.

it looks like a mitten coming out between the leaves and a root knob....you have a spike and a new root growth....how exciting for you!

This is really surprising. I thought it would need to recover more from the loss of all its roots first. I currently only water it by misting it daily because all of its roots are new except for the old single root it had left after I bought it. Should I start watering it like a normal orchid after the roots grow into the bark?

The plant felt the stress of no roots so it gathered all its energy to bring forth blooms to preserve itself....it is also giving you new roots; it means it has gotten accustomed to your environment....you may continue watering and fertilizer regimen since you have new growths and spike....you need to feed the mother plant.

It has this cute little leaf growing from the top and I noticed that the little leaf is split now. Will the leaf still emerge? I think its my fault. I split it while taking a picture of the spike No damage done to the crown or anything just a little slit on the little baby leaf.
eta: this is the baby leaf before the slit.
