Default Phaleonopsis, Bright Yellow with Dark Purple Blotches

This is my latest indulgence, my 18th Phaleonopsis. Since my Christmas Azalea is blooming now and most of my Phaleonopsis have finished for the time being I decided to buy this one as my Christmas present to myself. It resembles a Yu Pin Pearl but is bright yellow with the dark purple blotches and a tiny bit of white in the centre. I hope it will keep those colours. It was marked down to 80 Swedish crowns (between 10 and 11 US $) and I could not resist it. There are 5 fully opened flowers and at least 9 buds. The roots are a healthy green, thick and plentiful. Otherwise I have 5 Phaleonopsis which still have a few flowers on them. 3 are white and the white one which had root rot will probably drop its last flower today having bloomed since December. I have a pale mauve one with 2 flowers left and the one I bought in the summer for 10 crowns (less than 2 US $) still has 2 white blooms with purple centre and 1 which will drop this week, I think. There is still 1 large bud on a violet one I was given by a friend who found it in the recycling room and it has bloomed from the spring. The other day I noticed that there is a spike on one I have been given from church. I have not seen it bloom but it is probably white, though I hope it will be another colour or some variation I do not already have.

Very nice! I've seen white and purple like that, but not yellow and purple. What a great find and I hope the blooms last until Christmas.
