Thanks so much for all the great feedback! The unanimous vote has made me feel much more confident about repotting, I've ordered some new pots and clippers online so I will repot this one as soon as they arrive!
My only question now is in relation to something RandomGemini said;

Do you mean leave it out of its pot completely to sort of... "air"? Please excuse my ignorance, and thanks once again!
Yes, leave it completely bare root, sitting some place where it won't be disturbed. I set them in a plastic cup with holes cut in it in my laundry room to air the roots out.
Okay, I'll remember to do that! Thanks once again for the advice, you're probably quite literally a life saver (not sure my orchids would have made it without you)
Just paying it forward. I'm new to this hobby myself and the wonderful folks here on OB saved my phals from certain death with the almost the same advice I gave you!
Now, if you want to talk about reblooming an orchid... don't ask me. I'm hoping I can accomplish this, but I haven't actually done it yet. LOL!
Well, if there's one thing I've learned it's that orchids are completely unpredictable! I have one orchid that while losing a leaf for a reason unknown to me, and looking quite sunburnt, plus having just been repotted, has decided all on its own to put up a spike.
I'm sure you'll manage to make yours rebloom, though it may be the moment you stop trying
