Is that 14°C the temperature inside your house or the temperature outside? Being in Whales, you will pretty much have to grow indoors year round because if I understand your climate correctly, you don't get above 21°C for very long, correct?
I think that some good types for someone looking for somewhat easier culture would include oncidium intergenerics, phragmipedium, miltoniopsis, or cattleya. Depending on how warm you keep your home, you would probably look for intermediate to cool-growing plants (cattleyas especially). Oncidiums and phragmipediums tend to have a large temperature tolerance.
Some of my favorite phragmipediums include phrag. besseae or phrag jason fischer (I love the red coloring). There are many types of phrags out there. Besseae is a good low-light orchid that will do well in phal light or less -Fox Valley Orchids recommends that they be grown around 800 foot candles or so...
Oncidiums come in all shapes and colors. 2 of my favorites are Onc. Twinkle and Burr. Nelly Isler 'Swiss beauty'. These types can do phal lighting, but they often like some strong light between 2000-3000fc or so for best blooming. Mine grow next to my cattleyas under the lights due to spacing, so they can be adjustedmto higher light. The odontoglossum and odontocidium types normally like to be grown a little cooler, as well. *some oncidium-types can fet quite large. For example, Onc. Sharry Baby (orchid that smells of chocolate when it blooms) can have leaves that a foot long or more and spikes can easily grow to 4ft+! (Some people like to stake them up, others let the spike curve a bit for a more compact display)
Cattleyas like lots of light and many like warmer temps as well ~23°C at least during the day with a drop in temp during the evening. For more information on cattleyas, you can look at my blog where I got into depth about general catt culture (). I personally love some of the bigger catts, but I dont have room to grow them. One of my favorites from my collection is Pot. Burana Beauty 'Burana'.

And how could I forget about paphiopedilums! They can get intermediate to cool growers that also do well in phal light
