Orchids in an Office setting

Thanks all for your help. I was disappointed to find that there were no mini-phals...are they typically not judged at Orchid shows? I didn't see a single one except for on a magazine. So, I settled on two paphs, and maybe one out of the two will make it to the office :-P

Both look great, healthy, planted in a bark mix, and just about to bloom so I'm very excited. I will post some photos over on the Paph alliance!

Ludisia discolor might do good. I hate when books refer to flowers as being insignificant but this species is one which would be referred as such. I think it looks awesome and has always been on my list, but never acquired one. Not hard to find and they readily grow from cuttings, or so I've heard. Anyone wanna trade for one(just thought I'd throw that in )

I usually bring one of my flowering NOID phals to the office, so I can enjoy it during the day. I'm not close to windows but there is very ample fluorescent light. I always find it cold in the office so I have a space heater under my desk. I think it works out pretty well because the oscillating heater increases heat and air flow, and when I leave, the temperature goes down a lot. I just realized the phal I left there (finished blooming a month ago) is showing a new spike, so it's done better than I expected.

This can happen depending on the conditions, vigor, and parentage of the phal. Some phals are just bloomin' nuts!

Depending on how cold it is in the office and if there is variation of temp between day and night, it can also induce faster spiking.
