My Epidendrum has what I believe are keikis growing on it and I want to know when I should take them off or should I just let them come off on there own?
I think it's the same as with all keikis, i.e. 3" of roots in any denomination, so 1 x 3" root or 3 x 1" roots. These are prolific keiki producers & yours seem to have plenty to get them started on their own. Good growing!
Im sorry I am of no help. But your epidendrom looks happy and healthy!

Also I know that with my large paphs usually the plant itself looks completely viable on its own. Like 3 or more super healthy roots. My paph. Honey could honestly make 3 if it would not make it mad...good luck! I love epidendrom!

Here is one all potted up in its new home I am kind of worried the pot is a little big so we will see how it does.
How long do you think it will take for the keikis to bloom?

I have a Fire Star Reed Epidendrum in a 10 gal. pot. It is now my "mother plant" I have 5 other gallon size pots with daughter plants that I've started from keikis. I've been able to bless neighbors with them too! : )

Wow sounds like they get pretty big! How long does it take your keikis to bloom?
The "daughter" pots have been established for about a year. Two of them currently have their first flower spike. I try and let them stay on the mother plant until they have at least 3 root shoots, before I pop them off. I will try and get some pics of them all and post them soon.
