My paph godefroyea has a single root I am fighting to keep alive and 2 baby roots coming in so I am using it each week on that one for hopeful new growth. I have a monster paph I think got dunked daily b4 I got it it had so many roots on it.
Aha. I have all of mine in pots, and then humongous root systems are a pain in the neck.

I've noticed that some Paphs seem very prone to produce roots, while others do fine with a few. I have a hybrid and some species, that are all competing which Paph can get the biggest root system, while one survived without any viable roots for a year, before it decided a new root would be fine.

As long as what's above the substrate is looking good, they seem to cope.
