I just got a phone call from head supervisor in my local post office, he told me they are trying the whole afternoon find and locate this package, but without any luck. He told me they will still continue, but due to the fact this must be some huge box, marked as live plants, with certificates, so it can not be easily overlook, I am getting the feeling someone ELSE who may like orchids have already some nice Christmas gift. The seller offers cheap air shipping, than this much more expensive Express and than some Fedex, but I could not really pay for Fedex, since this one was already $180 (shipping including certificates). 3 day Fedex would come to over $260:-( I do not even think there may be some money back for me, since this is not sellers fault, he did send and I am not sure if he has any insurance on the package and value, which is with shipping close to $400.

Thanks Bud, however, as many people say here in Florida, you live either IN FLORIDA or in the USA. And, I deal with shipping and post office for some years, and unfortunately, we had whole bunch of LOST PACKAGES, 90% lost HERE IN MIAMI in USPS sorting centers before even leaving the USA - watches, jewelry, cloths, you name it. So, I do believe postal workers out of Florida are really nice and honest, but they are definitely not here! Florida si one corrupted state, just look at the TV and what happens here. It is the price we pay for "living in paradise", unreliable workers, horrible services, everything takes "ISLAND TIME", everyone works like they were on the vacation. I am always shocked how polite and efficient people are outside the Florida, and I do experience it on regular basis as I travel a lot for business and leisure often! So, my hopes are going pretty quick down the drain, if even people I know in post office can't locate this, it may be real bad for me, and my plants I waited such along time for;-(

Wow, Tommy, I can't imagine! I am hoping that this story will have a happy ending. I would contact the seller just to let them know what has happened. If you don't receive your box, I would definitely request the post office do something, as there is proof that you didn't receive the package.

Thanks Nikkik. I did contact seller. He promised to start the trace, however he was just leaving to Taiwan till 15th. Also, the investigation and trace is good thing, but it takes time, days and weeks, and that won't safe the plants. So I did use my big guns (since we have to deal with post office on daily bases we did make few friends by bringing them cheesecake from cheesecake factory every quarter for dealing with dozens of our packages every day), however even them after the whole day today were not able to locate and find the package, and that's what scares me the most, usually in the past they were able to locate the lost or misplaced ones, otherwise they were really stolen:-( And since I know there are people working for the post office here in Miami location that are stealing (especially in this sorting center), I am worried about the worst income - orchids stolen by postal worker:-(

Kindra, I hope you will save them all! Best of luck!

I hope your seller insured this so they might be able to return some of the money to you. $400 is no joke-I would have slaved for a day for that amount....

The worst part is to think that someone may have taken something that they knew didn't belong to them. What a different world this would be if we could all be kind and honest. I'm still hoping that's not the case!
My fingers are crossed for you and the orchids!

I hope you find them, if you believe them stolen you could possibly file a police report. My mom sent one of my wedding gifts to my old apartment and the package was never forwarded to me (despite my forwarding address being in their system) and I had to harass the Postmaster General in the area. I finally ended up going to the apartment complex - my old place was still vacant and the package had been sitting there for like a week and a half. xD Good ol' USPS just dumped it on the doorstep and rolled out...But I was about ready to call the police up there and file a giant report on someone (I thought someone had accepted the package - which, btw, is a felony - opening someone else's mail).
