Default Could this be a spike??

I have this mini phal that has been growing like crazy. The blooms dropped a couple months ago and in the past couple weeks I saw new buds forming and one opened up today. When I was checking it out I noticed this little thing growing down by the leafs. It looks a little different than the new roots that have been growing out. I attached a couple pics I snapped of the new growth in question. And one of the whole plant. :-)

Yes

It's funny- I was all researching and prepping to lower the temp to induce blooming (I grow inside, but not near a window- under lights) and all of the sudden BAM a spike appears and I didn't even get to lower the temps yet!
Guess they do what they want, when they want it. ;P

I won't complain.
