Need plastic pots
Anyone in SF or Davis/Sacramento areas have any spare pots? I need a few 3in, 4in, and 5in plastic pots. I ordered some online, but they haven't arrived yet and I just received a new shipment of bare root orchids. I know I should post this in the classified section, but I'll probably get more views here.

You should contact your local orchid society! I'm sure someone there could help you out. Also, Craigslist an ad for them. You never know… you might find someone who just had to sell their collection.

sorry I have a few net pots in 3.5 in i think, but I am not near you, I agree to check with your local society to see if they have any to spare or you could use some plastic containers to use, until they come in.

Try hydroponic stores. If you need them more urgently, go recycle bin diving (make your own).

Easily created from plastic yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. containers. Just poke some holes in the containers & use until the pots you ordered arrive.

Oh! And starbucks venti cold drink cups!! I did this with some patience and a pair of scissors. Don't use an exacto knife unless you have really steady hands.
If the plants are very small, you can use jello pudding cups! I have a mini phal planted in a recycled jello pudding cup that is VERY happy there.

What kind of plastic pots that size? I have some extras, depending on exactly what you are looking for. But Sac isn't actually that close to SF, not sure you'd want to drive here for them?

I need two 3in and two 4in. There's a shuttle between UC Davis and UC Berkeley. I can then take the BART to wherever you can meet.

You don't need to be in a hurry to pot. Orchids can stay bare-root for a long time. I've had cattleyas sitting on my orchid bench in bare-root condition for several months. Just mist the roots occasionally.
