It does and they so are cute. very tiny, just have to make sure to keep wet and use ONLY RO WATER, OR DISTILLED WATER. ABSOLUTELY NO TAP WATER!! and they like filtered light, not super bright or direct, I love mine, and they have a nice smell as well or mine does anyways.

Yep, I figured that out one night, when I was laying in bed, reading, having a glass of wine (Riesling) before going to sleep... It took no time at all for those darn fruit flies to come all the way from the kitchen, to my bedroom, and start snacking on my glass of wine!! They were all over it!! Nope!! Not cool!! (pardon me) but the B*#%$ of it, was that, with the exception of one or two of them, they didn't drown, they'd just fly right off the surface of the (my!) wine... (so glad I looked before sipping! ) ...That's when I learned the trick of adding dish soap to break the surface tension... & I laid a trap... Heh heh heh.. they never came back up out of the jar after that! yeeeaaayyaahh!!

I don't know why I didn't think of it myself, considering that I use wine in my wasp trap.

I wish I'd thought of that too! This has been the worst year for wasps.

Gregor, regarding the mealies, use the product Kindra recommended, also you should (1) isolate the plant until you are sure the infestation is controlled (if you see one, trust me - there are more you don't see, hence "infestation"). (2) keep a very close watch on any plants that were close to the infested one (orchid and non-orchid). I would "watch" for at least a month or two.
