1. So, I have a NOID that I am fairly certain is a
Sogo Gotris ‘Flora Ark’
I got it on clearance as its blooms were falling and much to my surprise, it is growing new buds at the end of the spike. (See photo, it's the reddish part, can't miss it)
I really need to repot it though. I did drop-pot into a modified yogurt cup bc it was in a small clay pot with NO drainage holes with tightly packed moss.
When can I repot it? I don't want to cause bud blast.
Also-
is this considered a "sequential bloomer"? I thought sequential do like one bud/bloom at a time.
It also has at least one basal keiki (normal for that hybrid if that's what it is).
2. I got a Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure' AM/AOS
It's a BEAST. Huge leaves and tons of roots.
Just a share here, no questions.
3. I got the following at an orchid society auction (my first!) and have a couple questions:
Tag reads -
Phal equestris v. rosea 'Harford' HCC/AOS x Phal bellina 'Ponkan' AM/AOS
Also, the Auction list said Phal. KS Mini Tris and then the rest of the name, but the tag just starts at Phal equestris, etc. I am confused about that.... which can I list as its "name"?
-
What can you tell me about it?
-I'm still new to orchid-terminology so, does the fact that it is equestris x bellina mean it's like a primary hybrid or something? idk what that means lol
-It seems to be a
sequential bloomer as well? because it had blooms on it and the start of a new bud plus maybe more growth at the end (only got it a week ago). Sadly, it bloom blasted (they all shriveled within a couple days, I assume that's blast?) and I can't tell yet, but I'm thinking the healthy looking bud it had when I got it has turned to that cranberry-look almost which is what I associate with bud blast.
Do I leave the spike or cut it?
btw, no fragrance that I could pick up and I think this was it's very first bloom.
4. Also just got a
Phal. Chiada Stacy 'Chocolate Drop'
(P. Caribbean Sunset x P. Sunrise Red Peoker)
Not in bloom.
Any special info you can give me? Does it have a fragrance? Prone to Keiki? etc
(not pictured)
5. And happy news-- Bloom spike on my first Orchid!!! I got it last November and it's my first rebloom. Wooohoooo!
Sorry to bore you.... thanks for reading and especially thanks for any advice!
