Where to get sheet moss for displays?
I know there has to be some people out there who setup displays on your own or with a society, I wanted to ask you all, where do you get your sheet moss? I have show coming up with setup on October 3rd and I need sheet moss, any ideas where I could get it? What's the best place and price?

Try almost any florist wholesale place. North Jersey Orchid Society orders theirs from Ferris Brothers in Middlesex, 565 Union Ave, Middlesex, NJ 08846 (732) 356-2850. 1 box of sheet moss and 1 of Spanish moss was about $75 total if I recall.
Don't forget to take yoru Tax exempt ID from your Society to save a few $

Is this the living moss or the dried stuff? Walmart has the dried stuff in its 'craft' area, I think, the part with all the vases and fake flowers. It is pretty cheap. Good luck with your display!

Another thought is to buy forest moss at a pet store. It comes in dry bricks and can be "rehydrated". It looks pretty good, and is cheap! but won't be in sheets like what you get from the florists.

I'll check the local wholesaler for some! Thanks! Hope I can find it for cheap.

I hope you'll post pics of your display after you've set it up!!
And, I was gonna suggest Lowes as well... I've seen it there, with all the orchid stuff, in the houseplant area The forest moss brick that cbuchman suggested looks good too.. I ended up using some of that stuff to tuck underneath my pots of flasklings, from one of my flasks, to increase humidity... It was cheaper than using spag, cuz I had a lot of seedling tray bottoms to cover, lol... But it looks good. It's cheap enough that you could see what it looks like, if it's what you envision... That small brick makes a lot!

That's the one I bought it for mounts and didn't like it. But for exhibits, I think it would be perfect.
