lighting T5 , T8 colored or fluorescnt

Very confused on different types of lighting. Today my husband purchased Dusk-to-Dawn floodlight w/one 65-watt fluorescent bulb and 4100 lumens and 6500k but no where does it say grow light...will this work? I have metal shelves on back wall in sunrm, in Oh. I would really like something that I could clamp to the shelves in a T8 HO as was suggested earlier to help cats. bloom. If I used a clamp-type lighting system, it would be close to the plants or better yet something on the floor shinning up to the shelves. We plan to sell our house someday and we do not want to do anything toooooo permanent.

It will work. A lot of us use 6500K florescent bulbs. And 4100 lumen out of 65W is decent (T5 HO is a bit more efficient around 5000 lm out of 54W). I don't know the beam angle etc, but for Cattleya, it probably covers less than 2x2' growing area. If it is not the only light source, then it can cover a larger area.
