The roots if my two Den-phals do not green up with watering.

The mounted one gets drenched daily except in winter, when I soray roots a bit daily, drenched every few days.

The potted one gets watered when dry, or approaching dry; in winter it is allowed to always dry completely before watering. I always use a skewer

The roots on top of the pot that had been exposed turned green. The ones I could see through the pot did not. What method do y'all use if you soak your pots? I have a softener that uses potassium chloride so I cant put them in the sink. I was thinking a bucket.

We have an outside faucet that isn't connected to the softener.

Ok I get it now. A bucket would be fine in my opinion. I do almost the something on a two other Den.s of mine but they are really small so I use a cup instead. And they love it so far. Except for Mr. Grumpy (one of the Den. spectabile, he is the smallest one) he just has been sitting there for the last 3 months not doing much.

I grow mine using long fibered shapnium moss and perlite. I let it get dry before watering again. During warm months it's watered once a week. I'm waiting for spikes now, the cooler longer fall nights usually get them going.
