I usually end up taking orchids off of mounts and putting them in red lava rock but I was told it was best to grow the brassavolas mounted. I have to admit, they do seem really happy this way.

Yeah well mine is in the vanda basket with loose sphagnum. Its roots are really not long enough yet to mount. When my new vanda basket comes in I will put it in the smaller one.4 in instead of 6 in. And let it free grow from there.

Mine is taking temps in low 40s at night, it has buds on it. So far, none have blasted. It was gifted to me by someone at my orchid society in February of this year and it was in bloom then. So excited to see it flower again! Mine came from the same vendor as yours, according to the tag.

@Nikik I love Kawamoto they have amazing plants I have not had a single infection or death from their plants. They infact are all thriving. I just do not care for the lack of care info for them lol. B/c after spending on the plant and then having to spend the shipping cost I do not want to kill them lol.

You know what else you should get from them?
Brassia! I forgot the whole name, but I think they only have this one variety, slightly greenish white with no spotting. I believe it is their exclusive one and when you see this brassia in bloom, oh, my, shopping never ends! lol
