Totally new at this I tried to pollinate phalaenopsis and here is the result:

Pod is only one month old now and needs to grow up to 8 months. Wish me luck in keeping it alive

Oh, and here is the picture of the flowers I used:

Good luck!

It's a bit addictive, I think. After pollinating a few NoID phals and some catts I got this urge to make all sorts of hybrids, and I'm tempted to take out the tooth pick and fiddle whenever I see new flowers emerging.

I'll just do whatever I feel like at the moment. I anyway need a whole bunch of seeds to do flasking experiments...but in the long run I should probably become more selective and conscious regarding which plants I combine and critically consider how the offspring might be.

Yay! Congrats! : I'm on my first seed capsule too! Mine is about 5 months old now... I have heard that to help it produce alot of seeds, you should give it a good amount/enough light, and fertilize well, & don't let it completely dry out for too long... I'm sure you'll get lots of seeds!!

Silje, you are right, it is addictive. I am already circling around new bellina flower with a toothpick in my hand

Island Girl, what did you cross?
Do you have a pic of your pod? It must have pretty big belly at 5 month?

Yep, here it is I am a bit worried it might be too small... The first month or two, I didn't realize that it needed bright light etc to produce tons of seeds... But I hope I caught it in time! It's a P. Germaine Vincent x self
