Your boyfriend is definitely a keeper! He was so thoughtful to add to your "collection".
When you have a little time you might start a "Wish List" of the orchids you
know will grow for you and would like to have someday Hehe
PS My husband gave me a Christmas present one year when I was just starting to collect and grow orchids...a new plant each month from a different grower. Those 12 months that year were his best gifts ever. Needless to say I had many more than the 1 per month by the end of the year.

Wow how lucky are you. My dear hubby would never do that. He just asked me how many is enough. But he said he does understand an addiction. He is always buying camping gear so he can't say anything hahahah.

I have been day dreaming about a green house. I just have no idea where to begin. How does one build a greenhouse that is heated for the Midwest winters? Is there a thread for this? Inquiring minds want to know!

LOL I have to laugh about "how many is enough". Mine asked me the same question. When friends ask how many I have he just shrugs his shoulders and says it's cheaper than me redoing the kitchen, etc. I have planted trees to hold the hanging ones and whatever I want to do he's OK with it. (I work on them while he's at work) The answer really to the question is... there are never enough orchids to have!!

lol, So my husband ordered me/us a "blue" vanda, but I freaked out about it (was scared I'd kill it) and he couldn't find any light bulbs good enough at Lowe's (we have to grow in doors). So he canceled the order in time. Then he orders a "near-black" mini (something Chocolate in the name).
He honestly thought he ordered it for this Wednesday and we were both excited for it to arrive and then he checked the status and realized it was scheduled for NEXT Wednesday. He felt so bad because I was so excited and then the date was wrong. So last night I jokingly asked, "want to go to Lowe's to look at their orchids?" and he said sure. Sometimes when he says sure to something, he doesn't actually get up and go. This time, he got up and got ready before I did. Mind you, it was like 8:30pm. So we did go to Lowe's and long story short, came home with a HUGE Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope "Golden Treasure" for $20. Amazing roots and giant leaves.
He said it was bc he felt bad about having the wrong date for the one on the way. AND I was surprised to hear him say "you can never have too many orchids" WHAT?!?!?! haha.... I agree though
Anyway, there ARE some decent men out there hahaha ;P
