The bad news is I have three stitches in my thumb and a pressure bandage wrapped around it. You have no idea how difficult is to put on your deodorant in the morning without the use of your left thumb. [/QUOTE]

First I am so sorry for the stitches, been there did that when making my hedgehog a cage and had to cut a hole in the side to place the pvc pipe...unfortunetely for me it speared me in the leg. OUCH!

But it looks like you have a very pretty new baby.
O and yeah you are more then a hobbyist your are an orchiditis case if I ever saw it...

Thanks Bud, but the potting was actually my daughter's handiwork! I did walk her through how to do it, as she's never repotted an orchid before. We finished potting it after I got back from urgent care and since I was told to keep my hands out of soil until the stitches come out, she had to do the "dirty work."

This is making me crazy… because I have an oncidium that needs to be repotted and I want to just get it over with… but I need to wait anyway, because the clear plastic pots I will need aren't here yet.

And kindrag, yeah… I think I have orchiditis for sure! I picked up 3 orchid pots at lowe's yesterday because they were on clearance for like 2 bucks each and I've had a heck of a time finding black orchid pots… got home and realized I have ONE orchid that isn't already too large for those pots. They're all 4 inches and my larger phals are already in 5 inch pots. LOL!

Exactly what I was thinking! There were some lovely beauties that caught my eye when I was browsing the internet the other day. I think that I'm really liking the oncidiums. I haven't seen one yet that didn't make me smile… and there's a phal that I KNOW that I want… and.. you get the idea.

Wear rubber gloves if you cant wait to get your hands into media mix....I get that feeling too if I see a plant that is growing out of the pot, I just cant wait.
