You should see it now. It looks a little sad. LOL! I hope it will rebloom for me someday though. You really can't beat the classic white phal.

After all that this poor thing has been through, it is reasonable that it may take an off-year to get itself established again. There are some phals that will only grow one or two leaves a year, when there are others that will grow several a year- I think part of it has to do with the genetics of the plant and the other part is just the environmental conditions. I have had my Sogo Yuk. "V3" for just over a year now and it's working on its third or fourth leaf, but I have only had 1 spike so far (the one I bought it with). The spike lasted for about 7 months, so I don't expect it to do anything anytime soon while it is growing. I know that mine loves that it is in a clear pot (actually an old tupperware container) and has a grow light of its own- it just gets the slightest bit of purple on the undersides of the leaves and supplemented with fertilizer and seaweed solutions it has taken off like wildfire! Hang in there for a spike- it just may take some time

My husband bought me a beautiful "blue" phal around the third week of March, as I was attempting to repot it both spikes full of blooms snapped off. I put them in water (I change it weekly and trim up the stem) and they still look gorgeous... Good luck with the new addition!!!

This is an old thread. You can see the dates on the posts if you look in the green bar on the left side, above the poster's name. That way, you'll always know when something was originally posted. I got this plant in September of last year and was just posting an update on it.

Glad to hear it's even still alive! I have a Paph I got last spring in bloom (first non-Phal) & have repotted a couple of times already due to my screw-ups. No blooming it looks this spring but it's very slowly growing a second growth. So I know a bit of how you feel. Never mind my Phal from 2.5 yrs ago still being nursed (new roots) & my mini that hasn't spiked since I got it oh in 08 or 10 but it has grown a new root!

Keep up the good work! (& updates)

Paphs like to have fresh medium, so that shouldn't have set it back too much. Could be yours is just a slow grower.

This reminds me, I need to repot my paph...

Another quick update.

Apparently what I needed to do, was complain about it! I noticed a new leaf growing on this plant yesterday!
