Ok well I have one more pic for all of you.

after reading everything that everybody suggested I decided to mull it all over while practicing a little bit of patience so... as you can see its turning out good...not only is the original new root growing wonderfully I also have two newer ones starting beside it...its also becoming more stable in its medium and soon (a week or so) im going to remove the clay shard and let it stand on its own.. And as im sure you saw there is a new leaf growing wonderfully out of the crown.. So apparently im providing an orchid happy environment...just thought you all might like to see....

oh and im still uncomfortable w/ that black spot at the base of the root (makes me feel like a whole nice root could just fall off) you know the whole weakest link kinda thing...but its growing wonderfully so.......

ThanX as always

Congrats on its recovery. She's looking great! I'd just keep doing what you're doing and leave well enough alone.

The black at the root could just be dead tissue....that's OK if it's not mushy.
