It's growing! It's growing!
This is where I show my complete and total newbie status.
My mini phal that dropped its blooms as soon as I got it home (the one in my avatar photo)… I was scared for it. I repotted it in a pudding cup, with bark, after I cut the spike. I thought the leaves might feel a little limp, but I checked the roots, plenty of water… and now, check it out! I've got a leaf! It's growing a leaf! I feel like a kid on Christmas!
I'm so excited!
I just watered it today, so I'll leave the fertilizing until next week, but I am SO excited!!! My window sill mini garden idea might just work out!

I hope that I will see growth on my big phals too. The big ones seem to be causing me issues. The minis seem completely happy with their lot in life though. Especially this one… and I have it potted in a pudding cup, that's sitting in a repurposed teacup. LOL!

Good for you. Mine are going a bit nuts right now. They need new pots.

Thanks! I'll do it again when my other two minis are ready to be repotted. It was easy to do and honestly, it was a perfect fit for a phal this size. I'll do it again when my other minis need to be repotted. I wish I had it so easy for finding clear pots with lots of holes in them for my larger phals!
I may have to get creative and recycle a couple of glad ware containers.

I'm in danger of losing my pretty purple and white Phalaenopsis "Joseline Hernandez" if I don't repot it soon! The blooms are gone and it's about time to change the medium. I have a bag of Sphagnum moss on deck but I may plant it in a mix of bark AND moss. She needs a doctor and I'm the only MD up in here!!!!
