since mini's are kinda new to me, I wanna ask, what to do with the Haraella spike after it is done blooming. I have 3 of these little buggers, all of them in bloom, some having another spikes already growing, and one is about to finish blooming. I do not see any old spikes or cuts, so I wanna make sure I will do this right, please shoot me with your tips, many thanks
If well cared for, these plants can keep on flowering almost continuously. Each flower spike blooms sequentially, with up to three flowers at a time, and continues for several months; a mature plant will usually have two to four flower stems active at any given time, with open flowers on some of them so don’t cut spikes; they will wither by themselves. This is a fun orchid and easy to grow....with a pleasant citrusy fragrance early at night....
Awesome, thanks much Bud, I guess my plants are still babies, but blooming already, only one flower on each spike however there are another new spikes already growing on the same plant, so can't wait, They are all in one of the terrariums/vivariums I have created, vase or glass ones, and so far it seems like the do enjoy it. They are really cute and great for the pics:-)
Many thanks, the oldest bloom died today but the spike is still fresh green and it seems like the spike from clamshell, meaning there might be another bud forming, so I am happy I did ask. Also, another haraella that has one spike with open bud has another long one already growing and I saw even 3rd one forming today, I guess they love my mini terrariums and vase vivariums, I am really happy!
