Growth vs. spike - photo project
I took this picture of the growth today, and lined it up with the last growth (that turned out to be leaves) Around this time last cycle the top of the growth had indentations, this time I could convince myself that I see a club....

It would be nice if it is a flower spike. Mine is leafing out now, so maybe the next time I with get bloom.

Update in the continuing saga "learning about my Coelogyne in real-time"!
The last growth - like vanda lovers's - turned out to be leaves. But... what is this other growth coming off the same bulb? More leaves I bet!
Also, the growth of this plant is just silly. I added a stake to support it, but it is more out of the pot than in. I guess it must be happy...

Welcome to the world of Coelogyne! Super ramblers!
BTW - you might get a spike coming out of that growth...you'll know soon enough. 2 of mine are blooming/getting ready to bloom. It's really not all that unusual for even the winter bloomers to kick out the odd spike here and there during the summer.

Not more leaves!
Eureka! After more than a year of growing this orchid - the largest in my collection by far (including the catasetums!) I think it is finally considering blooming!
This looks very different than the leaves did at this point: this has narrowed in the middle whereas the leaves stayed about the same thickness until leaves appeared.
