I have 4 orchids..Rhy Gigantea Alba & Rhy Gigantea(red) and the other two r cymbidiums..I bought them exactly 2 yrs ago..The plants were baby plants when i got them ..The cymbidiums have grown with new leaves but at a slow rate..they have no spikes yet..But the other 2 still look the same even after 2 yrs....All the plants r in pots with bark medium...They sit indoors in Northwest facing window..I live in the Boston area..What do i do to the vandaeceous alliance for them to grow larger leaves & flowers??Pls advice me on growing these 4 plants along with their fertilizer schedule..

I don't grow any of the above but their alliances generally need more light. Gradually move them to a southern exposure.

And for others to help, please provide the following information:

With what (NPK) and how are you feeding them?

How frequently and at what strength?

What media are they planted in?

What is the ambient temp and relative humidity?

Cymbidiums can be difficult to bloom if grown indoors year-round.
They like strong light while growing in spring and summer, and many need a period of cool night temps late summer-fall to initiate spikes.

Also, orchids can take a few, to several years to become bloom size (varies depending in type). Are you able to post photos?

Pics & more info as AnonYMouse listed would be of great help.... Orchids are complex in their cultural requirements, so we have to know what they're getting &/or not getting to advise properly.

My Rhynchostylis (I have the exact same two as you) get a lot of sun, full morning and evening sun, the midday sun is filtered. They grow in a plastic basket with some coconut fiber around the roots because they don't like to stay wet, but they do like to drink and pout if not given enough water. I bought both of them last winter and they came severely dehydrated, but they have kicked out new roots and leaves like crazy.

I use miracle grow orchid food which is 30-10-10..I give it once a week as per the instructions in the pack..So I mix 1/4 tsp of orchid food in 1 gallon of water and this is done every week..I must admit that i have missed it sometimes.Last year the cyms were outside in the patio during summer sitting in the SW..But this year since we changed the apartment I can keep them only in the NW side..The Rhy orchids were inside throughout but used to get full sun sitting in the SW side...Now I have kept the Rhy orchids outside in the patio at the NW side..In the winters these orchids come inside where they get light.I am posting pics which can help in further advice. The first 2 pics r my cyms & the next 2 r the Rhy orchids

These 4 plants are over potted. The cyms need to be in a deep but narrow pot with smaller sized bark. And they need a lot of ,light. The ryncos need smaller pots and smaller bark. I would feed these monthly until they start growing new growth. The cyms look unhealthy aND have some sort of fungal growth. Those spots aren't good. Don't keep them tied up.

I guess anything is possible but cymbidiums and rhynchostylis aren't good choices for growing indoors because of their light requirements and, for rhynchostylis, humidity and water requirements.

I don't think they're likely bloom size.

If you have the Cym foliage tied together because it's floppy, that's a symptom od too little light.
