They have few I would go for, wow, but I really promised that this is it for me for now! Page saved, I want Maxillaria Tenuifolia, also Den. Spectabile because it loves direct sun! And Green Hornet - I love my clam shell and want more:-)))

The cooling pots sound similar to the olla pots with Phals mounted on them, unless I'm misunderstanding something. I bought one of those wine bottle coolers made of terra cotta, thinking I'd try mounting a moisture-loving plant on it. I bought it at the Humane Society thrift store, because I'm cheap, hahaha. I have it full of distilled water, to help humidify my plant room, but haven't been brave enough to mount a plant on it just yet. I was worried it would become too cool for a Phal this winter, but it might be just right for a cool-loving plant. Hmmm...

I mean these. Special material that water goes through, and keeps roots colder than outside air

no really, we talked with my partner yesterday, balcony became unlivable, I mean, there is no more space to sit for us and enjoy coffee, since I have plants everywhere, and now inside my mini vivariums and terrariums. He hates plants, but tolerates me with all of them, and even take care of them when I am gone. However, with another mini's coming next week and than the end of September big order with some 20 pieces, this is truly IT! I just can't have no more space. My poor thing even agreed for me to get bigger orchid vivarium but I decided I am done for now. I can barely keep up with my orchids now, taking care of all of them, and I will have to travel a lot also so I am already freaking out how they will survive - I mean, he took care of them when I had some 40 outside, somehow, but with close to 100 outside and these mini's inside, he won't be able to keep up:-)

The worst thing is, I might have some month or 2 of traveling sometimes within next 6-8 months, and I am already freaking out, I will have to probably fly back home to Miami for the weekends at least to take care of my orchids:-) I just do not even want to think about it now, my next trip is end of September to California, 7 days, it will be already torture:-)

That looks very much like what I have in mind for my wine cooler. I read a post about mounting Phals on olla pots and the terra cotta wine coolers that I often see at thrift shops popped into mind so I checked the local thrift shop and VOILA! The cooler stays moist, yet doesn't sweat ... probably because I only have about 60% humidity in that room. I guess I'll never know if it'll work unless I try it, right? Maybe I'll just stick a piece of heart-leaf philodendron on there as a test. ^_^

I wonder if someone in your orchid club knows of an orchid-savvy plant sitter you could hire.
