Recommendations for Dendrobium acquisitions
My objective is to populate some large Live Oak trees encircling my driveway with some spectacular Dendrobiums. I know that there are other orchids that will share in fulfilling this objective, but in this post I am narrowing the scope to Dendrobiums in order to get specific with some nice choices. Here are the attributes I would like each recommendation to possess:
1. Plants that will reach large size
2. Plants that will produce long, pendulous canes
3. Plants that will not drop their leaves in the winter
4. Plants that will produce striking sprays of beautiful flowers consistently (ie....hardy plants)
I live in zone 10b in very South Florida....about as far south as you can go and still be on the Mainland. The trees have some large limbs growing near horizontally out over the driveway just crying out for some amazing epiphytes. Your suggestions with explainations would be greatly appreciated!
