I agree with what's been said by King, and Paphman910, but will say that there is one type of packing p-nuts you shouldn't use... They dissolve into goo when they get wet, they're made from cornstarch. (they r Eco-friendly, I think usually green, but seen some white ones as well). Just set whatever p-nut you're gonna use into some water for awhile (30min.), if they don't dissolve, they are fine.

Clear pots yes,
I put the skewers as close to the center as I could.
White peanut, but in that week it didn't dissolve after I watered. I'll put a spare one in straight water and see what happens though.

So, it's correct for me to stick the skewer in the bark as soon as I'm done watering and just keep it in there until next time I want to check how it's doing days later right?

If that peanut didn't dissolve in your pot inside a week, it should be fine, and I think for the most part, white ones are ok.
