Hello all!!!
A friend sent me a picture of her phal and I suggested her to treat her as a bacterial infection and remove the bad tissue, but I wanted to share this with the board because it is unbelievable...
Please if anybody can share some thoughts... to be sure of what this could be?
Thank you again,
Virginia
Definitely not pretty. I think your advice was sound.
Thank you... so do you agree that this is a bacterial infection? And besides removing the bad tissue and treat it with a copper based spray, what about the roots? Should she make sure that roots are in good shape and remove any rotten ones? I advised her of that too... thank you again.
I use copper based fungicides on my trees to prevent fungus (and something else to fight the bacterial disease, fire blight that attacked the pear). I don't really know which you have or with what to treat it but it is definitely something that requires the removal of the leaves infected. I usually then treat with isopropyl alcohol as it is safer for use in the home (never seems to happen during the summer when my plants are outside). Here are two sites which will help more than I can:
