cymbidiums, coelogyne flaccida, paphiopedilum complex hybrids, paphiopedilum insigne, dendrobium nobile and its hybrid, neofinetia are some of my favorites and they all take near freezing without big problems. but freezing is definitely not required for these.

Look them up and you will find something you like. Some of them are scented as well.

They are called nobile type because dendrobium nobile is a wild species and the one you got is a hybrid that has a nobile in it.

Nobile hybrids do not require very low temperature as the wild species do and easier to grow and bloom.
As long as winter does not freeze in your area, you can leave this plant outside year around. You just want to protect them in the summer though since it gets really hot in Texas. A little bit of shade and daily watering in the summer. They take full sun fine, especially fall and winter, they need full sun for best flowering.

To my kid is a beautiful one, similar to one of my favorite called Love Memory 'Fitz' also by Yamamoto dendrobium.

@ NYORCHIDMAN: The pictures I saw of it show that it seems to be absolutely beautiful IMO. It will have to come in because we sometimes get flash freezes for weeks on end with temps getting towards 19* The last few years we have also had at least a week of snow and ice so it will have to go into one of the cooler rooms in the house in order to survive. Thank you I will look into these as well in a few months after I get these guys good and set up in their new home.

Also when you say shade I think of on my covered porch underneath my African Lavender plant that sits about 4 feet back from the porches edge.

Would my Cattleya do well outside right now as well. We are having around 95* weather and I would like to move it outside if at all possible for at least a little bit before it starts to get cold here in about a month and a half.

Yeah, many (if not all) of Yamamoto dendrobiums are absolutely beautiful. You will want them all soon! lol

They need temperature down in the 50s or 40s (they won't be harmed at all in brief freezing as long as the potting mix is dry but this is not recommended) for one to two months to flower well. High light is needed during this time.

When they are growing in the spring and summer, bright light is the best but make sure leaves are not burned. so if it gets too hot in your area, then I would put a layer of fine mesh net or sheer curtain over the plant to prevent burning. Or placing plants a bit further in from the direct light source helps.

I grow my nobile hybrids right up against my south facing bay window (without any curtain) all year around. Summer can get really hot in my apartment reaching up to 90 or higher on some days.

Cattleya outside in the direct sun in the 90s or above can burn them to death fast unless there is some shading plus enough air movement and humidity.

This is the area I was thinking of for my cattleya and my Den when it comes in. If this is okay.

I don't think that is enough sun, mine take full sun except for the very hottest (95+) days, even then they are out except for 11:00-2:00. after they have hardened off they can take that too. Mine also came through a few nights down to 29 with no problems ...Jean

3rd attempt! This is my Cattleya in the pic between my 2 hibiscus. Would this be better for them both?

I think I see hydrangea in the first picture and I used to grow them. They enjoy bright location or even slightly shaded. They can take some sun but do not like direct sun with blazing heat.
Hibiscus is a different story. My friends in South Florida grow them outside in direct sun year round and they grow crazy well.

How much sun (hours) does this location get?
Is there any tall trees that can dapple the sun during the midday? then, yes, you can leave your orchids out there, but I would be very careful otherwise because of possible burning.
