The good news is that it looks like your plant has healthy roots which is the important part. If you want you can cut off the yellowing leaves and put some cinnamon on the cut to disinfect and dry the wounds...be sure to sterilize the scissors with alcohol too. If your really worried about losing more leaves you can treat the plant with a monthly dose of a fungicide like physan 20. It can be found at hydroponic stores or plant shops. I don't think your plant is diseased though. It is probably just normal die off of old parts. Better safe than sorry though in my opinion.

From what I've heard the orchids from this brand are good quality.

A lot of people don't like the ice cube watering method, though some have got on well with it. I'm not going to comment on that

Thanks for explaining guys . That actually makes sense, like to try and water them slowly to let the water soak into the bark. Thought it was to keep the temperature at the roots cool or something!

Kratos, the problem with the ice, is that these are tropical plants, so you wouldn't want to cool the roots (esp. with a Phalaenopsis). And, with this "watering method", I don't think it works with bark, I was under the impression that it was for moss, but I dunno. (but I wouldn't use it either way, IMHO)
