Help...I have Mealybugs
Angry Help...I have Mealybugs

How do I get run of these $&€#% bugs. I was told alcohol sprays, three time a week and then I was told H2O2 sprays once a week for 4 weeks. Anything else I can do? I have Phals and one LadySlipper. Most of my orchids have them and I have tried to separate the ones that do to try to discourage the buggers from spreading. My hubby is beginning to think I am nuts for trying all these sprays. I also looked up about getting rid of them and I read about an insect growth inhibitor...$125 a bottle! Then about some kind of 'killer' Beatles. My orchids are in my living room so I can't let a swarm of Beatles go in there (but I thought about it) Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Bayer 3 in 1 orchid insect spray. Available from Home Cheapo or Lowes or any good garden insect spray. Use 7 days apart for two weeks.

ditto above...any good systemic...take the plants outside and spray in the SHADE! it will burn if in the sun....sometimes if you cant get outside, you can put the plants in a big yard plastic bag and spray...I know you don't want to use it in your house, but it is a necessity to get rid of mealies...you have to spray! and a good systemic....every week for about 4 weeks, and once a month after that forever...good luck

I use bayer disease and insect control, for my gardenias, and hibiscus. Works really well. Smells to high heaven though whew! Also bayer has a 3 in 1 systemic system for roses as well that I have heard works....Tried bayers neem oil spray but it did not work. Whatever you use I agree dont spray inside and allow them near bright sun they will burn up. Good luck. I had white flies and spider mites that I fought for 2 months.
